Circle around it: Saturday Scraplift No.241

This week’s gorgeous inspiration page is by Beckie (aka Mungerre), whose gallery is packed fullof clever, creative and downright beautiful layouts.

image

Isn’t it wonderful? I love how Beckie created the circular background effect by layering stitching and watercolor paint and the great 12 x 12 text frame by Ali. And on top of the circle the layering of photos and text and titlework all overlapping and creating a cohesive whole. A great way to get the fun of circles on your page without the scary step of cutting your photos into circles!

It was a lot of fun to lift, and I hope you join Wendy, Merrilee and me in doing so:

Jump to the fun bit: Saturday Scraplift No.240

From templates to photo clusters, there are lots of products in the store that make scrapping quicker and easier. I like to think of it as “jumping to the fun bit” of choosing the photos, the papers and the extra little elements and details.

There is always scope to make it well and truly your own unique page, as Heather aka Schnerbear proves with this adorable layout:

image

Heather used a Bookshelf Scrap pack template, then made it her own with that great bold, two-alpha title.

Mixing and matching two or more fonts and/or alphas is a great way to create a unique, eye-catching title.

I love her use of big, bold patterned paper as well.

Here’s how Janet, Connie and I were inspired:

Tell it Like it Is Saturday Scraplift No. 239

Hi everyone! Katie here, stepping in for Lynn this weekend!

Tracermajig aka Trace, has been putting up some amazing pages in the gallery lately. And some of them are without pictures which is really great. It is all about the story after all and there aren’t always pictures to go with it. But it’s still a story to tell and I love that she is doing such a great job with her pages! This weekend I chose “I Don’t” as the Saturday Scraplift!

Steph took a turn at an “I Don’t” page too!

Down and across: Saturday Scraplift No.238

“Down and across” may sound like crossword puzzle instructions, but are actually instructions for a great scrapbook page! Here’s the layout that inspired me this week, from Georgina (aka Georgeinci):

image

Notice how the vertical and horizontal ribbons make a strong framework for the design, with Georgina’s trademark gorgeous layering and brushwork added to it. You can be as quirky and element-crazy as you wish with this strong base. The beautiful contrast between the strong elements (the ribbon and banners especially) and the lovely soft brushwork makes for a gorgeous page. Not to mention the wonderful color combo as well.

Here’s how Tara, Esther and I were inspired:

Lots to say: Saturday Scraplift No.237

This week I was drawn to a great page by Heather (aka Schnerbear) which is a brilliant design if you need space for a lot of journaling:

image

The attention remains completely on that adorable photo, and the placement of the stars and number make a nice, simple visual triangle. What I love about htis page is how it has so much text yet it doesn’t overpower everything else, with the use of the bold, torn edge making a nice counterbalance to the writing.

I can see a lot of interesting pages being inspired by this wonderful layout, and Connie, Joanne and I were keen to lift it!
