Painting your Summer Memories

It’s week 4 of the ten weeks to treasure series using the Painted Summer series! If you’re just joining us, we’re scrapping two pages a week to end up with a wonderful Shutterfly Photobook or an album when we’re through!
This week’s templates have space for up to eleven photos! You can tell quite a story with that many photos!

My pages this week are the pictures of my cousin Mary and focusing on her and sunbathing. She had no interest in going in the ocean and was content to stay on the blanket in the sand. But that’s okay, she’s a doll and I wanted to showcase some of the pictures I took of her!

And Mel’s been using the templates for a variety of pages and simply recoloring the paint layers to match her pages. So many uses for these templates!

I’ll be delayed again next week but then should be back on track as we head into the home stretch! smile

Paint your Summer Memories!

Welcome to week 3 as we paint our summer memories in the surf!!

A little bit each week and before you know it we’ll have a completed photobook!

This week’s template, Painted Summer Surf No. 3, has room for 10 photos! Perfect for showcasing all your outtakes which is what I did with my pages!

My cousins littlest was such a hoot with the sunglasses. She was hamming it up for the camera and I wanted to include that!
I added Stamped Stitches and recolored yellow word bits. Then I used a fine brush of 3 pixels and my wacom tablet to add my own writing. Sara’s tutorial in the store can help you get started with your pen tablet!
Didn’t go to the beach for vacation? How about the pool? the backyard sprinkler? These templates are great for so much more than beach pages. I look forward to seeing how you use them! smile

Paint your Summer Memories!

Welcome to week two as we paint our summer memories.

A little bit each week and before you know it we’ll have a completed photobook!

This week’s template set, Painted Summer: Surf No. 2,  has room for up to 9 photos and is loaded up with paint for an artsy look! I have been using the Lightly Letter Box papers for my background and you can get some wonderful effects by experimenting with blending modes. Try color burn or multiply with your photos to see the paint below show through!

This week, I added some stamped stitches to my page and recolored some yellow word bits to coordinate with the page!

And check out Melanie’s pages! She recolored the paint to coordinate with her garden pictures! Fabulous!

Looking forward to seeing you join in as we paint our summer!

Paint your Summer Memories!

Remember the Ten Weeks to Treasure series? The series where, in just ten weeks, we created a wonderful memory book. They are back and they are loaded in paint!

Each week look for new templates in surf, sun and sand to mix and match and put together a Shutterfly photobook sure to showcase your summer memories!

This first week it is Painted Summer: Surf Layered Templates No. 1

image

I used a light text paper like you can find in the Letters Home Paper Pack. This allowed for subtle effects while using blending modes on the photos. If you blend some photos and leave some opaque you’ll see a layered effect with the paint—it will look like you really got your paints into this!

I look forward to you joining me as we build our memory books and play with paints!
