Ten Weeks to Treasure - Week 3

Moving Right along… these books will be done before you know it!

We’re getting some great participation on this book and all the books are amazing! Check them out in the Ten Weeks to Treasure Gallery!
And I’ve been asked if there will be more to come when this book is done… and the answer is yes! A new look will be coming for our Round two in August!

And before we move on to this week I wanted to point out Kayleigh’s awesome pages! I love how she mixed up the templates, scaling down the elements and adding more elements for her special touch—it’s turning out awesome!

and my book for Jack, which I’m keeping simple to focus on the pictures and make it less distracting for Jack!

Ten Weeks to Treasure - Week 2

I’m so excited to see so many participating in the gallery! wow! Looks like we’re going to have some amazing books when we’re all done!

It’s week two!
And we’re on to pages 3 & 4 of our books!

with Create-a-Book No. 2

For the book I’m creating from Jack’s visit I’m documenting all the things we did while he [and my sister] were visiting! I can’t wait to have this book done—and bring it to my sister in August when we get to visit Omaha to meet Jack’s new little brother that will be arriving soon! And then it will be time for another book! wink

Since we’ve moved I still haven’t found the box with the diary I kept on the trip but I did find a map that I had drawn out our journey on so, through the pictures, I am remembering the trip! I’m sure I packed that diary away somewhere safe where I wouldn’t lose it wink LOL!

Be sure to Link us up to your pages! I look forward to seeing how everyone’s pages are progressing!!

Ten Weeks to Treasure - Week 1

Welcome to a new series on the DesignerDetails blog!
Ten Weeks to Treasure
is going to make creating a 20-page Shutterfly photobook a much less daunting task!

Each week, a new 2-page layered template will be available in the DesignerDigitals store. And each week I will share with you different layout ideas to inspire you. And at the end of the 10 weeks you’ll have completed a full, 20-page photobook! I’m actually going to create 2 simultaneously! At the end of the ten weeks, if you link us up to your photobook in the Shutterfly Gallery, details to come, you’ll be entered for a chance to win your book for free and in the least receive a discount coupon for printing your photobook!

So let’s get started!

This week we are starting with my new Create-a-Book Classic No. 1 and I’ve created my two different books opening spreads in different styles to show you how versatile it can be. And don’t worry, we’re going to come back at the end and create the title page, end page and cover!

The first book I’m creating is about Jack’s visit!

I used my new Simple Classics Kit and kept the pages clean and simple to help focus on the pictures!

The second book is about our trip to Ireland 3 years ago. I have started trying to document this journey in a book a couple of times now and have never finished it other than a book of simply photos, so I am really looking forward to getting this book done!

I used the Letter Box Traveler Kit to blend the photos in the background.

So what are you thinking about creating a book around?

Think about what events in your life you have more than 30 pictures from.
Is it a book of favorites?
Places you’ve lived?
birthday parties over the years?
Vacations?
School Years?
How about a book of family faces?
Lyrics?
Quotes?

I’ll look forward to you joining in as we journey together to create these lasting memories! Link us up in our forum to link me up to your pages so we can all follow along together!
