It’s so hard to believe the year is almost over!!! I hope your 2009 at Designer Digitals has been wonderful…filled with new friendships and lots of discovered creativity. With the wrap-up of the year, comes the wrap-up of the Simply Inspired contest. It’s been amazing to see the wonderfully inspiring pages you girls have surprised with me every week! You girls rock!

Now, onto our final contest!!! If you’ve never participated before, we’d love to have you join in! Your mission is simple. Isn’t this a fun piece? I originally selected this ad for the cool circle text path work, then quickly discovered lots of other bits and pieces of design goodness. Notice the use of blending modes, the color combinations, the repeating circle elements on the page. I couldn’t help but notice the beautiful watercolor brushes, the cityscape and dotted circle accent all of which you can find right here at Designer Digitals! So fun! What other ways does this piece inspire you? We want to see!

I came across this cool theatre poster the other day and thought it would be perfect for the contest.

I’m not quite sure why I’m so drawn to this piece but I just love it! Don’t you? SO many fun things here to jumpstart creativity! Try using the amazing color scheme (LOVE that teal), run with the sewing concept or feature a large scallop or lace shape on your next page. OR feel free to take a cue from the design and highlight a silhouetted image on your next page or be inspired by the stitched letters in the title. So much goodness! Take a closer look for yourself. This baby has been sitting patiently in my inspiration folder just waiting for me to call it’s name. Well, today is the day! Bold typography. Great use of white space. A color combination that is purely delicious. What more could a girl ask for? Start your next layout by pulling inspiration from one (or all three) of these great design starters. OR feel free to be inspired by those adorable little graphics or simply create a page about all the things YOU like. Take whatever speaks to you and run with it!

Such a fun collage of grunge, rust and distressed goodness. When I saw this, my mind immediately turned to so many of the fun products in the store. From the paper to the worn edges to the wings to the hardware, you could probably recreate this poster piece for piece. However, that’s not necessarily what this challenge is about. Feel free to take one small concept from this design and use it to spark your creativity. We want to see all the different and unique ways each of us is inspired.

I had another inspiration piece picked out and all ready to go when this baby caught my eye. Sigh. Don’t you love this? So fabulous and so full of inspiration to bring over into the world of modern memory keeping. Try using various alphas to create a cool mixed title; create a vertically sliced layout using photos to fill random strips; or simply highlight a letter or shape in a patterned paper. What other ways does this piece inspire you? We want to see!
