Heritage Challenge No. 05
Good Monday morning! It is Mollie from the Designer Digitals Heritage Challenge team of Steph, Lynnie & Mollie. It is hard to believe that this new challenge is already in its 5th week . . . so read on . . . I think that you will really enjoy this new prompt!
Today we are having a Happy Heritage Birthday Challenge here on the Designer Digitals Blog! I hope that many of you will dig into your old scrapbooks and find a photo of yourself, your mom or dad, your husband, your child or a good friend . . . it doesn’t matter who it is, just so long as the birthday is heritage {in the 1970's or earlier} & created with all DD products. The photos will jump start your memories & the great supplies from the DD Store should move your layout along just fine.
Our fabulous Creative Team is really having fun today! Paula {PaulaSG}, Katie {katie pertiet}, Kari {kari}, Anna {annaaspnes} & Merrilee {digigrandma} join me {readstoomuch} in celebrating one special day in each of our lives. Now we are moving on to the fun part of today’s Heritage Challenge!
In the first layout “Celebrate”, Paula says “Here’s me in 1974. Don’t you love my dresses? Apparently I needed two for this occasion!” Paula’s shared her first birthday party in Ireland with her brother in these colorful photographs.
Paula used these supplies: Photo Clusters No. 14, Zippity Kit, Goodie Bag: Party Hats, CurvyCorners Stitched Borders No. 01 12 X 12, All You Need Overlays, Stitched by Anna White No. 04, Stitched by Anna White No. 01 & Roughed Up Notebook Paper Pack.
Merrilee used a particualrly sweet photograph that celebrates her very first birthday for her “Birthday Girl” layout. This photo was sent to Merr’s daddy when he was serving in the Navy during WWII. Be sure to notice the very clever cluster of buttons & flowers.
Supplies used are: Scrap Express No. 18, All Done Up Frames No. 04, In the Post Kit, Fly Kit, Crazy Beautiful Kit, Colbie Solids Paper Pack & Arboreta Paper Pack.
Kari searched for her lost birthday photos and found an album that her grandmother made and gave to her when Kari was six years old ... complete with her grandmother’s had written notes. Her layout that she calls “Kari’s Birthday” gives us a peek into that album!
Kari used Worth Repeating Quick Pages Plus Pack, Aaron Paper Pack, tape from Botanist Notebook No. 21 Kit & CurvyCorner Borders No. 01 8 1/2 X 11
Katie created “Your Day 2 Celebrate” using Randy’s second birthday snapshot ... yes, this is our very own Mr. Katie, support guy, IT Man & window washer! Don’t you just love Randy’s cute smiling face as he sits in the high chair waiting for his cake with two candles & the little hat with the bow that Katie placed upon his head?
Katie use these fabulous DD products: Glen Moore Kit, From My Bookshelf, Basic Polkadot ribbons, Happy Days Word Art, On the Edge Flourishes 5, Wrapping Bows, Stitched Notecards, Stitched Elements, Digital Pixies, Simple Spots Numbers, Memorable Spots, Jewelry Tag Alpha, bow from 2nd Hand Memories, Charmed No. 1 & Drop Shadow Styles.
Anna has created “My Childhood Birthdays”, a double page layout combining several years of her birthday photos. She says that this is a “quick peek of me as a youngster…about 5-7 years. Really enjoyed putting this together and reminiscing about my younger days. I’m digging heritage right now!” I am happy that you are “digging heritage” Anna, because I’m loving this double pager. And, I would love to have been invited to Anna’s fun partys as a child!
