3 Kits 3 Ways No. 118

I think one of the traits we memory keepers have in common is an attitude of thankfulness for the blessings in our lives. We preserve the memories that are most important to us and every so often we pause to show our gratitude on a scrapbook page. I am so pleased to showcase pages by Amy, Jess and Nath for the 3 Kits 3 Ways Challenge this week in which gratitude is the theme. I hope the 3 kits and the example layouts inspire you to create similar pages that are meaningful to you. Remember, the 3 kits are on sale today if you’d like to add them to your digital supplies. Just click on Specials up in the menu bar when you are in the Designer Digitals store. The challenge is to use the 3 kits to create your own page and upload it in the 3 Kits 3 Ways Gallery.

Mollie and I have a great time perusing the store choosing the kits we highlight for the challenge. It reminds us how many truly fabulous designs there are in the Designer Digitals’ store. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of the DD designers for consistently coming up with new, wonderful designs each week.

3 Kits 3 Ways {No.118}

Good morning!  It is Mollie {readstoomuch} again with the 3 Kits 3 Ways blog challenge.  Our every other Wednesday challenge consists of 3 Creative Team members using 3 kits in 3 different ways.  Merrilee {digigrandma } &  I alternate with the challenge posts . . .  so this week I am pulling three terrific Designer Digitals products from the shelves of the DD Shop for you to play with.  If you don’t already have the 3 Kits in your stash . . . remember that Katie & Randy generously have the three products for the challenge on sale today!

The three kits this week are all elements packages.  Each one very versatile and lots of fun to work with I found.

First is one of Ali Edward’s fabulous WordArt packs . . . Life In Pictures Brushes and Stamps just made for photographers to have fun with.

image

The second kit that I have chosen for you today is Katie’s Photo Clusters No. 32 . . . a great grouping of tabbed frames.

image

And, finally I’ve pulled one of Pattie’s trim kits . . . Fanciful Felt Ribbons and Trim: Little Trims No. 02.

image

Now let’s take a look at the most fun part of the 3 Kits 3 Ways Challenge . . . the three layouts made by Creative Team members Julie (Julie DeGuia) and myself (readstoomuch).

From Julie we have this delightful layout showing the heart melting smile of her little Kyle.  I really, really love how she filled the photo frames and added the large extra frame.

In addition to the 3 challenge kits Julie used the following:  Everyday Pets Borders Brushes and Stamps, Be Labeled: Harvest, Stamped Sentiments No. 02 Brushes and Stamps, Yellow Word Bits No. 01, Little Snips Alphabet No. 02, Lil Bit Tags, Matte Black Vintage Photo Frames, Watery Washes Brushes and Stamps, Geometric Hints Brushes and Stamps, Sunday Morning Paper Pack and three new products introduced this week . . . Banner Safety Tags No. 01,  Naturally Krafty No. 12 and Bead Scatterings No. 04.

image

I had fun playing with the three kits today too . . . my page uses photographs of our grandson playing underneath his Papa’s legs . . . hanging on and being dragged all through the kitchen!

The following DD products are used in addition to the three challenge kit:  Be Buttond: HarvestBead Scatterings No. 01, Bella Solids, Blue Skies Element Pack, Blue Sonata, Dragon Trainer Kit, Ledger Pieces: Leaves No. 03, Itty Bitty Robots Kit, Paper Cuts No. 01, Photo Corners Colors, Twisted Stitches and Yankee Doodle Papers.

image

Here is another really, really quick layout from me using only the three challenge kits and a few photographs from an early summer trip to the Lake Tahoe area that my husband & I enjoyed so much.

I used Pattie’s Little Trims No. 02 for a border by making four copies (scrunching them a little bit and joining each together.

image

For your layouts you should use at least one product from each of the three challenge kits along with any extra products from the Designer Digitals Store that you wish.  Remember that you can recolor papers, shift elements around, stitch and clip to your hearts content too.  The three challenge products are 30% off for today only.  We love giving some inspiration for the versatility of the kits and we hope that you will join in on the fun!  Merrilee and I look forward to seeing your pages posted in the 3Kits 3Ways Gallery.

Hello! This week, how about letting the 3 Kits Challenge be a starting point for your own creativity! See where your imagination takes you beginning with these 3 Kits. Remember, the 3 Kits are on special today if you don’t already own them in your digital stash. You can add any additional Designer Digitals products to your layout or stick with just the 3 Kits. Here are my choices for starting a layout:
Pattie Knox designed these exquisitely beautiful glass jars filled with autumn elements.
Preserved memories: Autumn

Once you discover the beauty of this cluster brush set by Katie Pertiet, you’ll find yourself using the different versions again and again.
Botanical Artistry Clusters No. 02

We’re happy designer Jackie Eckles joined Designer Digitals earlier this year. This kit quickly became a favorite of mine for the warm colors and fresh looking elements.

3 Example Layouts Using the 3 Kits
Layout by Anke
(Anke’s stylishly posed photos of her daughter and her friend were taken last spring, so, she chose the light colored background paper from Jackie’s kit and cleverly added a lovely butterfly at the rim of the glass jar, an array of glittery stars and star glow brushes to the leaf brush for a spring-like look. See! All of you who are welcoming spring to your part of the world can join in on this challenge, too.)
image
Anke’s additional kits include Star Glow Brushes and Stamps and the butterfly from Artistry de Sol Kit by Katie Pertiet. Those magnificent stars are from Spellbound KIt by Lynn Grieveson.

Layout by Terri Davenport
(Terri’s page is all about capturing the all important yearly family portrait. She gave the page extra personality by including photos of the silly antics of her sons being silly or as the old saying goes, boys will be boys! See how nicely the little glass jar fits at the corner end of the photo cluster and how lovely the leaf brush looks stamped lightly on the opposite corners of the page.)
image
Terri also used Photo Clusters No. 33 by Katie Pertiet.

Layout by Me (aka digigrandma)
(My autumn photo, taken on a walk in the park preserve near our home, gave me the perfect excuse to feature one of my favorite elements, Pattie’s glass jar, plus use a new favorite alpha, Katie’s Plastic Disc Alphabet: Orange.)
image
I also added Fall Word Art No 01 Brushes and Stamps , Vintage Flash Cards: Fall, Rubber Charms: Leaves No. 01 and framed my page with Frame Me No. 03B by Katie Pertiet.

Thanks for taking a look at this challenge today. Mollie and I appreciate so much all the fine pages added to the 3 Kits Gallery. Hope to find one of your layouts there this week!
