Heritage Challenge No. 51

This week we are scrapping an important inanimate object from your past.  I was taken with Debbie’s (dwest) layout of a bowl from her grandmother, pages from Alina Love and Susan [at home in ottawa] . . . and I begin thinking of a sentimental object from my past to scrap.  You may have a very valuable item or something that is worth only pennies.  Thus today’s topic for the Heritage Challenge Gallery!

Do you keep objects that may be useless to you now, just because you associate them with some past memories of yours? Maybe because they remind you of people who may have passed away or that you do not see very often nowadays. Or maybe because they just remind you of yourself, years ago.

Connie (scullen), Merrilee (digigrandma) and I (readstoomuch) have made three very different pages about three very different objects from our pasts.

Merrilee chose the trunk which belonged to her great-grandmother and now sits in a special place in Merr’s home.  You must read the journaling!

I absolutely love the subject which Connie chose for her page today.  Just as Merrilee has done, Connie has written an amazing story to go with a necklace which she found that had belonged to her mother.

3 Kits 3 Ways: no. 127

Hi everyone! Is it spring where you live or are you ushering in the fall season? No matter where you live, it’s fun to think of how we have scrapping friends from all over the world at Designer Digitals. For the 3 Kits Challenge, we’re featuring 3 kits that will work no matter what the season. Instead of picking out the kits myself, I asked three of the Creative Team members to do the choosing. I think you’re going to love the results.

First, I asked Jess to start us out by picking a full kit from the Designer Digitals store.

Jess chose the Noemi Kit by MapleBrook Studios.

Next, I asked Linda (aka Lindar70) to choose an alphabet kit to go with the Noemi Kit.

Linda chose Putting on the Glitz: Disco Ball Alphabet by Pattie Knox:

For the third kit, I asked Sharon to choose a word art kit for the 3rd kit.

Sharon chose Simple Celebrations Baby Elements by Ali Edwards

Now, the challenge is to create a scrapbook page using only these three kits. Upload your page to the 3 Kits 3 Ways Gallery so we can see how you would use the 3 kits.

Jess, Linda and Sharon created beautiful examples for me to show you. I think you’ll agree the 3 kits work together very well.

Thank you, Jess, Linda and Sharon. It was fun for me to have help picking the kits. In fact, I know I’ll use this method of choosing again!
