Happy Thanksgiving to those of us celebrating it this week! And, to everyone else… Happy Week! *grin*

Since it is a holiday this week for many of us, I’ve kept this week’s challenge simple: Think ONE... one layout, one photo, using a one-word title and one "themed" font for your title. Choose that one word that sets the stage for your story and choose a font that complements your title theme.

I created two examples this week… both are quirky photos that my kids didn’t really want me to scrap, let alone post. But, I made a deal with them: I’d post both layouts so they’d both be embarrassed! (Does that make me a bad mommy?) hahahaha

On Derek’s layout, the first word that came to mind for me was "guns"... an obvious one-word title choice. And, for some reason, at the same time, I was thinking of the original Thanksgiving so I picked an "historic" font for my title: Jane Austen (from dafont.com). I actually loved the contradiction of modern vs. historic times and the way the font’s "g" frames the corner of the photo.

For Shannon’s layout, I think you can see where I got this one-word title! What a photo, huh? *wink* I chose Kelly Purkey’s SP Cranky Pants (from scrapsupply.com) for the title because it was named so perfectly, it’s a playful font (and I am teasing Shannon here!) and that "O" has such… well… emotion to it!

So, can you join in this week? It’s only ONE! *grin* And, remember to post your layouts in the Designer Digitals "Just My Type" gallery. Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Enjoy! Happy Turkey Day

Layout of the Week

Hi Everybody,

This week I picked a page by a newbie on the Designer Digitals Board. Her username is mugsbigsis and it only took me two days to figure out why she picked that name - lol.

I love how she used Cassie’s Technique from her Tutorial found here, the Sentiment of her page and her eye for Details ( did you see the little heart on the Tree with the word "mom" in it?)  Here is the page I am talking about: Goodbye for now

mugsbigsis - if you could come to the Messageboard, answer a couple of Questions and tell us your real name, that would be awesome smile

Happy Thanksgiving everyone,

Dagmar

I just love this Christmas page by Bonnie:

image

I love the Kraft paper background, the beautiful title work, the perfect placement of those stamped trees in the corner and the way the journaling acts as a third column next to the stamps. (What I don’t love is how fast Christmas is approaching, however!)

Take a look at these wonderful layouts inspired by Bonnie’s great page and then maybe you can join us by creating your own scraplift:

Friday Round Robin!

This week’s Friday Round Robin comes to us courtesy of our very talented (and prolific) Guest CT winner for November…Melanie aka Britgirl!

Here is her take on Merrilee’s layout from last week:

I like how she incorporated the several small photos into one large photo but still kept the design looking similar. Way to go, Melanie!

Let’s see your take on Melanie’s layout! Post to the Round Robin gallery on Designer Digitals…and as always, TGIF!
