saturday Scraplift No.181

Such adorable photos on this week’s inspiration page by Amsonwho has one of the most fascinating galleries of layouts you can find. This page does not have such an exotic subject as some of her others, but a gorgeous one nonetheless:

I love the photo treatment, and how well it works with Katie’s challenge papers. Did you notice how the start of the title at the top of the page, the main title and then the journaling form a triangle? A great design for three photos (and one that could be flipped to suit) and just a lovely page all over!

Bailey, Linda and I had fun lifting it:

Get it together for Christmas No. 04!

Are you ready?! Its is a mere five days {give or take your time zone…} til the Days of December albums are put to use!

I see some new templatesjournalers and papers  creeping into the store, if you’re not ready or if you have a few things left to decide! {Set aside some time to browse the store, my links are the tip of the iceberg!}

And, those of us who have got the basics ready to roll, will find plenty of fab goodies to embellish with, coming in the Days of December Specials!

There is a lot of talk on in the forum about what to put in your album or what to focus on.  So, are you going to write the day to day of life? Plot Christmas in your town? Detail all the christmassy things in your life? The rhyme and reason behind all your personal December traditions?
Lots of journaling? just pictures? Its certainly something to think about, but please dont get stressed over the finer details. Take the stress off yourself - December brings truck loads as it is- whatever is your big hurdle, give yourself permission to step right round it. Hate journaling? So use a few words. No idea what to take pictures of? Use just one a day then. It will end up being what it ends up being. No future reader of your little book will ‘tell you off’ for journaling your heart out on one day and writing nothing the next.  Remember how delighted you’d be with such a creation from years, and generations, past.

Show me/us/the world what makes it December in your house, or how December - christmassy or otherwise - pans out.  That was the part that sticks in my mind most from last year; everybody lives a different life, and its a wonderful glimpse into lives a world apart from your own too.  I know writing mine got a little dreary at one point; I write day to day as it comes, and at times that was laundry again? groceries? oh the excitement! but NOW? Now that’s the fun bit, seeing how we were compared to how we are.  Hold on to that okay smile

I think I might start the cover for my book this week, its the most fun part of book creating for me, its like a treat I’ve been saving!  I’ll be using the colours I’ve used all the way through,

but sneaking in new things too…..! or leaving gaps for them wink

Don’t forget to post your pages, as they start to appear, in the Days of December gallery.

Next post in the ‘get it together’ series will be focusing on Christmas itself. I’ll be bombarding you with gift, packaging, and decoration ideas. Woohoo!! Plus we’ll be gather ideas and thoughts on how to get Christmas into your layouts, with or without Days of December!
