All About Me Challenge No. 8

Welcome to the All About Me Challenge! Since so many of us have just celebrated Mother’s Day (and hopefully have some new pictures of ourselves!!!), this next challenge is about motherhood.

The title is “What Mom Means To Me”. You can take this challenge in any direction you want - it can be about your mother, your childhood, your grandmother, etc… Or, it can be about your life as a mother and what it means to you to be a mom. If you don’t have kids, you could also do a layout about your hopes for motherhood later on or even write a letter to your future children.

I was honored to have our very own Kelly (mugsbigsis) help me out with this challenge! I love everything about her layout! My favorite part, though, is the inclusion of the different generations of mothers. This is what scrapbooking is all about.

PageKraft:::WriteTrue + Click:: No. 9: Exploring Home

Only one day after Mother’s Day I thought it would be fitting to explore the idea of home.  Yesterday I had a chat with one of my friends IRL who was talking about the differences between her and her partner in what home means. One sees it a as retreat where specialness should be enjoyed between and just for them. The other sees it as a place to rest and do his own thing - an escape from the world. So….. I’m asking: What is home to you? What do you want recorded as your sense of home? What do you want the future people to know about you and your home? What do you find in your thoughts when you deeply consider the idea of home? Try to find words that evoke your own sense of home….even if it is not the typical idea of home.

Here is a beautiful example of creative design and extreme cleverness!! Janet not only created a home on this page she also worked deep into the idea of what home really does for her.

What Homes Means to Me

For “constructing” this page Janet used Mail Room No. 1 Paper Pack  Purely Happy Paper Pack, Lolly Rub Ons, Frame Me,Brad Bonanza No. 1,CircleIT Basiz No. 1 Brush Set, Metal Clip Assortment, Labelled Journalers No. 2, Stitched by Anna Borders Red No. 1, Messy Stamped Alphabet No. 4 , Messy Stamped Numbers and Extras, Scallop Strip Masks No. 2

On the opposite extreme of the moving issue is Linda’s great exploration of what it means to live in a home, the same home, for thirty years.  She takes a deep look at the joys and life changes which have been sheltered by the physical home they built.

It’s Good to Be Home
Linda used FotoBlendz Canvas Clipping Masks 12 x 12, Stitched by Anna Lime NO. 1, Vintage Photo Frames NO. 19, Time Clusters No. 1, Little Snips Alphabet, Awanui Kit

For myself, the idea of home is closer to my friend’s partner’s concept.  I need a place to retreat, to explore what is inside my head!!

We would love to see how you get this idea on the page.

Embellish It! 06: place your embellishments in series

So you want to embellish. . . and you think you know what embellishments you’re going to use . . . but now comes the question of where to place those goodies. Today’s post is about one of your many options: lining them up & putting them in a series—though they don’t always have to be lined up all nice and tidy.
