All About Me Challenge No. 2

Welcome to the All About Me Challenge! I am so overwhelmed by the response we had to the first part of this series and encourage you to look through the All About Me Gallery when you have a chance. The layouts are truly amazing. You can find the first challenge and all of the subsequent challenges this year in the AAM Category Archives.

Last week’s challenge encouraged you to tell the story of “Me Now.” Today’s challenge will take you back to the beginning - the start of the story of you. This is your chance to answer the question, “How Did I Get Here?”.

In this layout, tell the story of how (and/or where) you grew up. The focus of this layout is on your beginnings, not your husband and kids. You might want to journal about your parents and your siblings or the town you grew up in. This doesn’t have to be a heritage layout - feel free to use the background story as a way to relate to your current life and you can use current photos of your family members. This layout could easily be journaled simply by introducing your family members and explaining what it was like to grow up with them. Include current photos and you’re done. If you need some journaling prompts, you can also use a timeline like the one below and supplement it with whatever pictures you have.

I was thrilled this week to have Jana Morton, a very active community member at Designer Digitals, help us with this challenge. Jana’s gallery is an absolute treasure trove full of beautiful layouts and meaningful stories. And her AAM layout this week is just the icing on the cake!

Jana chose a beautiful combination of black and blue with striking red accents as the color scheme for her layout. And I absolutely love the way she broke her early story down into topics. Great inspiration!

Our next layout is from the amazing Mel (Britgirl), a Creative Team member at Designer Digitals. Mel used a combination of older photos and current photos to help tell her story and it works beautifully!

The journaling on my layout focuses on my childhood. However, I didn’t have any photos of my siblings when they were younger. So, I simply used recent photos of my family, as well as a recent photo of myself. I added in one photo of me as a child to tie it all together with the focus of the story of my childhood.
