Digitally messing up for a great scrapbook page
Saturday Scraplift No. 116
A scrapper who never fails to catch my eye in the gallery, is the very talented Aino, and I love her “Most Handsome When Wet” page (and not just for it’s brilliant title!):
For one thing, that blue and brown color scheme (with just a touch of orange) is so perfect. A great example of the “1 cup of one color, a few tablespoons of another color and a teaspoon of a third color” theory! Fabulous layering too, and notice how the photo and papers are on one side of the page but helping to balance the design is the great use of Katie’s Splatter brushes. But what really grounds the design is the centred distressed edge overlay. It pulls together all the other elements and brushwork. To see what a difference it makes, look at the page and imagine it without the distressed sqare. (Of course, the handsome when wet man helps draw the eye too ...)
Lots of inspiration here, as Amber, Bailey and I found out. Here’s my take on Aino’s great design:
