February Photo Challenge

image

Join us for the February Photo Challenge!

This month’s challenge is to capture something at an aperture of f/8. Why an aperture of f/8.0? F/8 is considered a story telling aperture. You are able to get much of your subject in focus, giving the viewer more to see. Many of us are addicted to shooting with “wide-open” apertures like f/1.4, blurring our background with only a small portion of our subject in focus. The f/8.0 challenge moves you out of that comfortable spot! Think creatively, interpret anyway you’d like, just use f/8! Since f/8.0 doesn’t let as much light in as wider apertures, watch your shutter speed, and you may need to bump your ISO up some!

Enter one photo with the tag, DesignerDigitals_February, in our DesignerDigitals POTD group at flickr. Your photo needs to be taken in the month of February and posted by midnight EST February 28, 2010.

The winner will receive a $25 Gift Certificate to B&H Photography and be featured on the DesignerDigitals blog.

Happy Shooting! Looking forward to seeing your story.
