It’s Time to Shape Up!

No, this is not a blog post about exercise, at least not the kind you find in the gym. It’s about exercising your creativity by using a template. I am always drawn to grids in design; they must appeal to my love for symmetry. Katie’s Centered Heart Layered Template provides a grid of nine spaces that can be filled with pictures, paper, journaling, or embellishments. It’s up to you to decide!

Stacy (FlowerGirl) filled the spaces of the template with photos of who and what bring her happiness and used the center for her title. Her neutral background makes her photos pop, and repetition of the color red unifies her page.

Mollie (readstoomuch) enlarged the template slightly to showcase her grandchildren-friendly Christmas tree ornaments. The color red makes its appearance again and shows up beautifully against the kraft background.

I matted the template to incorporate a border of . . . you guessed it, RED! I filled all the spaces with pictures from Grandparents’ Day at my grandchildren’s school. The angled mats beneath the photos gave me another opportunity to add a touch of red.
