Holy Cow! Thirty typography challenges… how cool is that?! Wow! (OK… so, little things make me happy! What can I say?) Seriously, though… are you ready for this week? Remember the last two challenges? Two challenges ago, we dealt with using a single font. Last time, for variety and interest, we added color to a single font. For this week’s challenge, we’ll use lots of color and different fonts!
CHALLENGE: Use multipe fonts, sizes and color to journal or create your page title.
After playing around with a few fonts for the challenge, I realized that Katie had already done alot of the work for me: Cut-Ups! So, I *let* Katie’s words create the color and fonts for this layout of my son. Fun and quick for me! I also added a chipboard letter and Ali’s overlay includes a bit of her handwriting, so I’ve got even more typography going on! Lastly, I used a simple font (SS Mono) AND color for the journaling to bring focus to the story.
And, with all that color going on… (I wanted to keep the photo in color, too… look at his bright shirt!)... I kept the background neutral, adding subtle color and pattern from Katie’s new paper. It balanced (and matched!) the colorful word stickers perfectly! How sweet is that?

And, just to let you know… this layout uses LOTS of NEW stuff, too: A chipboard alpha and patterned paper from Katie, embellishments from Pattie and a new template AND new overlay from Ali Edwards… check out the store this weekend! (grin)
If you don’t already have a big stash of Cut-Ups in your files, go snag some in the store! They are soooooooo fun and incredibly versatile! (Anyone been following Kayleigh’s layouts as our Guest CT member? Check out her gallery for some great uses of Cut Ups!)
And, remember to post your layout in the “Just My Type” gallery at Designer Digitals! I hope you enjoy the challenge this week!
