Well, it’s still Wednesday here in Southern California, so technically I’m not late posting! Right? Soooooo… this week’s typography challenge is pretty simple… at least I think so!
CHALLENGE: Opposites attract! Use a curvy, feminine font on a masculine page. Use a strong, masculine font on a girly page. Use a bold font on a soft, sweet layout. Or use a childlike font on a layout with an adult theme. Easy, right?

On this layout, I used “Carpenter”... a fairly “old” standy feminine, cursive font. Remember when eveyrone was using “Carpenter”? I chose to use this cursive font for my title on the baseball layout for my sweet nephew. The title is a bit of a play on words… he’s leading off base in the three photos and is as handsome as a “leading man” in the movies! Thus, the font and title treatment add a bit of whimsy to the otherwise simple layout. And, because I used a “fancy” font for the title, I kept the journaling font very simple so it stays readable!
So, let’s get creative this week… I can’t wait to see your “opposites”! Remember to post your layouts in the DD “Just My Type” gallery!
