SIMPLY INSPIRED CONTEST (No. 11)

Time for another Simply Inspired contest!!! Your mission is simple! Take a look at the current inspiration piece and use it to jumpstart your next layout. Then simply upload it to the Simply Inspired gallery on or before June 29, 2009 to be in the running to win a $10 gift certificate to the Designer Digitals store!!! Simple. Fun. Inspiring! This week your challenge is to create a layout using this ad as your inspiration:

I love the idea of creating images with text! Don’t you? We want to see you borrow this idea and create a layout that uses text in a new and different way. There are so many possibilities with this one! Try using text paths to “draw” a simple image with text, create a circle of text to highlight a photo, or type sentences close to your photo subject so they appear to be spoken into the air. Use your imagination and think outside the box for this one!

For help with creating text paths in Photoshop, be sure to check out Cassie Jones’ tutorial, Laying It All Out No. 06: Text Paths and Simple Shapes. Don’t have Photoshop or the ability to create text paths? No worries! Check out the multitude of ready-made shaped text paths in the store by Pattie Knox. One more tip? Several layered templates have text paths included so be sure to take a second look at those as well. Wow! What sweethearts our DD designers are! They make it so easy for us!
