Friday Flickr favrites week 17

ack. I’m sorry this is running late. I’d give you my list of {very real} excuses but I think you’d rather just skip to the pictures right? wink

This is a BIG picture week for me, not only did I get some lost pictures back form a data retrieval company, but I have a new camera. Let me tell you there is nothing like a new camera to make photo taking exciting again smile And there are some fabulously inspiring shots on our DD flickr group! Oh yes indeedy! wow! Feel the need for a little inspiration? Well, look this way smile

Hows this for inspiring?
Its by our very own Randy, and its the kind of shot you can stare at for hours and hours…  It needs to be made huge and pasted on the wall like wallpaper I think!

New York City at Sunset in HDR

And how about colours and flowers to inspire you? Like this shot by sarah, - wow!

Working with a challenge or two always re-inspires me too. Our Get me off auto book is full of them. I love the capture here by Tami. Smiling or not wink her son is beautiful here smile

Scraplifitng a grid style layout from the Designer Digitals gallery

Saturday Scraplift No. 151

I love, love, love this layout by Terri (aka JDCooper):
image

Her grid design is a brilliant solution for scrapping a set of photographs which all have the same importance. There isn’t one focal point photo - all the shots of her mom’s beehives are equally brilliant and together they add up to a wonderful story of her mom (and hair fashions!) in days gone by. Great paper choices too (Clementine by Rob and Bob Studios) , with soft colors that do not overwhelm the photos and a retro feel. You might also be inspired by her use of the hanging charm, the tiny title and the use of Katie’s bracket brush.

Here’s how Aino, Jodi and Amy were inspired:

Credits: layout by Aino, Just Linens paperpack by Michelle Martin, Clementine Papers and overlay by Ron and Bob Studios,
Little Shores element pack and Polka Dotty alphabet by Katie Pertiet, hand drawn overlay grid by Ali Edwards.

Hybrid Scrapbooking and More - Wearing your digital supplies!

Did you ever think about using your digital supplies on something other than paper? This week we used some of our Designer Digital goodies on t-shirts, totes, journals and more! Create your design just like you would a regular layout, making sure you size it appropriately! Then you can print your design onto transfer paper which can be ironed directly onto fabric—follow the instructions on the specific transfer paper you use.

3 Kits 3 Ways { No.77 }

Good morning!  It is Mollie {readstoomuch} again with the 3 Kits 3 Ways blog challenge.  Our every other Wednesday challenge consists of 3 Creative Team members using 3 kits in 3 different ways.  Merrilee {digigrandma } &  I alternate with the challenge posts . . .  so this week I am pulling three terrific Designer Digitals products from the shelves of the DD Shop for you to play with.

First is Katie Pertiet’s Neutrality Paper Pack.  This paper pack is an oldie but definitely a goodie that Katie put in the store in 2007.  It has been in my go to folder for three years and I still use it on many of my own pages.

Next is Type Sets Memory 01 by Cathy Zielske.  Cathy provides us with words & phrases that celebrate everyday memories.

For the third product, I have picked Absolutely Acrylic:  Pastel Tinted Buttons-n-Ties by Pattie Knox.  Pattie’s translucent acrylic buttons add a subtle touch of dimension to any project!

Now we will take a look at the layouts from Creative Team members Lynn { grandma lynnie }, Sharon { Shannamay } and one of my own { readstoomuch }.

From Lynn is this very simple and effective page names “In the Waves”,  using a wonderful photograph taken at the beach.  The photograph itself is a beauty and Lynn has used the three kits perfectly to scrapbook it.  In addition to the three challenge kits, Lynn has used Katie’s Alandia Tropics Kit.

And, next is “Remember This”, a poignant and powerful layout where Sharon journals her emotions and feelings from a very difficult & emotional time in her life.  The extras that Sharon used are Counting Layered Template, Staple Its!, Hipster Plume Korners n Edges No. 03Stitched by Anna: White No. 01 & Homestead Borders.

The third layout is mine by the name of “Everyday Memories”. . . the photographs are of our newest grandchild.  I can’t quit taking photos of her and take hundreds each time we visit!  My extras are Baby’s First Year Word Pack, Clustered Layered Templates No. 06, Dotted & Dashed Frames & Little Layette Kit.

For your layouts you should use at least one product from each of the three challenge kits along with any extra products from the Designer Digitals Store that you wish.  Remember that you can recolor papers, shift elements around, stitch and clip to your hearts content too.  We love giving some inspiration for the versatility of the kits and we hope that you will join in on the fun!  Merrilee and I look forward to seeing your pages posted in the 3Kits 3Ways Gallery.
