Saturday Scraplift (no. 55)

There are few things cuter than a pair of baby feet (and I really wish I had more photos of my own daughters’ feet when they were little). Bailey(Aka Starlite) has created this wonderful page with very cute foot pics:

I just love how she has torn the photo to focus on the essential part. That is definitely something you could lift - as is the wonderful use of elements. (Small and perfectly placed!). Lovely color scheme too. Just a lovely page all round!

And look what it inspired:

Thursday’s Template Challenge

Welcome to our new Thursday Template Challenge!!!

Not only is it Thrifty Thursday with over 170 items 30% off, but now we’re adding a challenge on Thursdays. Each week, either Debi Boler or myself will be choosing a template [on special for 30% off today] and our creative team will create pages with it to inspire you to the different ways templates can be used! Templates are such an amazing jumping off point—you won’t want to miss the inspiration they provide!

This week we’ve chosen the 9-disc layered template! Check out how the creative team has used this template and join in on the challenge and post your page in our Template Challenge Gallery!

I Wish I Knew How to Do That

For this week’s IdeaBooks4u challenge, we’re tearing paper!  We’re getting our inspiration from Ashley Calder’s fabulous new book, Scraptastic! - 50 Messy, Sparkly, Touchy-Feely, Snazzy Ways to Jazz Up Your Scrapbook Pages.image
In this book, Calder shows step-by-step directions to incorporate different art mediums into your layouts or home craft projects (i.e., think batik-style painting, watercolors, gold leafing, collage, and much more).

Here’s our inspiration layout:

I picked this torn paper strip example so you would have the choice to do this either as a paper or a digital page.  For all you digi scrappers, check out some of the torn elements in the Designer Digitals store.

Come check out the step-by-step directions over at The IdeaBooks4u blog and then start tearing!

3 Kits 3 Ways {Week 24}

It’s that time again! We’ve got another 3 kits 3 ways challenge. And I think the key word this week is “challenge”. I picked an unusual combo of elements (or so I was told! LOL) Anyway, here’s what we started with:

image
Average Joe Kit by Dana Zarling

image
Bare Branches Alpha by Jesse Edwards

image
Labeled Go Brushes by Anna Aspnes

As always, the rules are simple. Use the 3 kits and change them anyway you want to. Adding additional products is allowed (and encouraged) as well. The whole idea is to pull out something you may have forgotten you had or buy something that you now can’t live without. smile

Here are the pages this week:

page by Stacy McFadden

I had to start with this darling page of sweet Ginger. She has gotten so big! In addition to the 3 kits, Stacy added Naturally Krafty Paper and Vintage Photo frames No. 9 {coming soon} by Katie Pertiet and Zig Zag Stitching by Anna Aspnes.

Page by Debi Boler
I thought it was interesting that Debi and Stacy both used the same papers from the set, Naturally Krafty No. 1 and the new Vintage Photo Frames No. 9 that Katie is putting up in the store soon. Although Debi recolored just about everything on her page. She also used Bare Chipboard Shapes by Katie Pertiet.

This is a bit out there, but it just seemed to work for the photo. I recolored my papers to match the art piece and combined the teal paper from Average Joe with Monoblendz Origins by Anna Aspnes for the background. I also added Stitching Holes, Ledger Grids and Watery Brushes all by Katie Pertiet.

Please feel free to join us with this challenge and post your pages in the 3 Kits 3 Ways Gallery when you are done. Thanks!
