It’s All About You!

This week for the IdeaBooks4u blog challenge, I decided to keep it simple and fun.  One way to do that is with a quiz.  I took the quiz from Simple Scrapbooks book, “Scrapbook Shortcuts with Quizzes & Questions.”  It is filled with wonderful quizzes; some thought provoking and some just for fun.  Today’s quiz is called “The Slice of Life Quiz.”  Here’s Caroline’s wonderful page:

» Terrific Templates No. 3 «

Well, they say that “three’s a charm” and I think they’re right! I happen to personally LOVE the number “3” and this week we celebrate the third template challenge with a template of threes: Three photos and three tags. And, I’ve got three layouts to share from three talented DD Creative Team members! All using a wonderful template from Pattie Knox… Speedbyte No. 16. (Gosh, I just realized we should be using her 3rd template! Oh, well… another time!)

Bonnie used soft shades of pink to complement the sweet photos of her granddaughter, scalloping the edges of the paper. She kept most of the templates elements in place, adding hearts and ribbon, as well as looping yarn thru the tags’ holes. So clever!

Paula also used pinks on her layout, deepening the shade to pinkish-reds to complement the smiling photo of her aunt. Because she had such a great photo, Paula chose to eliminate the other two photos and replaced them with a fun patterned paper. I love the whimsy it adds to the layout!

Mollie used bright greens to showcase these darling photos of her grandson! She eliminated the template’s frame, added a dry brush frame for emphasis and moved the photos into a slightly different position in order to make the tags a bit more visible. She clipped Katie’s flashcards to the tags… don’t they look great?

Like Mollie, I chose a greenish palette for my layout, too! Of course, when one is showcasing soccer photos, green is a predominate color! And, in this case, my daughter was playing her old team who had vivid lime green uniforms! In order to accomodate my landscape photos better, I simply flipped the template on its side. And, I chose to eliminate one photo and used that space instead for my title and documentation.

I hope you will join us this week and show us your “Terrific Template” layout… Pattie’s template will be ON SALE in the DD store as part of “Thrify Thursdays”... Thursday only, so pick-up Speedbyte No. 16 and show us your take on Pattie’s terrific template! Remember to post your layouts in the template challenge gallery! And, have a terrific Thursday!
