You Gotta Have Friends

“you gotta have friends. I’m telling you. I am speaking ‘cause I know. It’s going too fast. We’re all going too fast! I’m trying to tell you to slow down! They’re hard to come by! Those friends are hard to come by! I didn’t have many friends, you know. But, things are getting better now. And I think it’s gonna be okay, ‘cause I have a couple now.”

Friends,
You gotta, you gotta, you gotta have friends, friends.”

Lyrics from Bette Midler’s song ‘Friends’

This week over at the IdeaBooks4u blog we’re celebrating two things: our friends - the people who support us, love us, and make us laugh and the wonderful new book, “Fabulous Friendships-Scrapbooking the Relationships that Make Life Fun” by our friend Wendy McKeehan and Kitty Foster.

Check out this light-hearted layout that Wendy created about her friendship with Kitty:

Come over to the IdeaBooks4u Blog to see many more pages about friendship and then create your very own.  Post it in The IdeaBooks4u Inspiration gallery at DD.

Have a great week friends!

Ten Weeks to Treasure - Week 3

Moving Right along… these books will be done before you know it!

We’re getting some great participation on this book and all the books are amazing! Check them out in the Ten Weeks to Treasure Gallery!
And I’ve been asked if there will be more to come when this book is done… and the answer is yes! A new look will be coming for our Round two in August!

And before we move on to this week I wanted to point out Kayleigh’s awesome pages! I love how she mixed up the templates, scaling down the elements and adding more elements for her special touch—it’s turning out awesome!

Details here & here!

This week we’re on to No. 3 of the Create-a-Book Classic Templates

and my book for Jack, which I’m keeping simple to focus on the pictures and make it less distracting for Jack!

details here!

I’m happy to report that this week I found the diary I kept on our trip to Ireland! So there’s no more struggling to remember the details… I have all my notes!! I can’t recommend keeping a trip diary enough! You may think you’ll never forget but you do and with a diary you have all the details!

I’ll be looking forward to seeing more of your pages in the gallery and hope that you our enjoying our ten weeks to treasure journey!

Saturday Scraplift (no. 62)

I so love this page by Museumpiece:
image

Check out her gallery if you have the chance. I especially love the layouts with the photos of her childhood (perhaps because they are identical to my own childhood photos so if I ever get around to scrapping those old photos it will be great inspiration!)

The muted color scheme of this layout, with it’s splashes of color is stunning. And I love how the cluster of elements and the selective coloring of the photo pull your eye to the centre of the page and to the focal point of the photograph.

Here’s what Sarah, Bonnie and Stacy were inspired to create:
image

Credits: layout by Sarah, simple classics 3 (coming soon), Little vintage frames, stitching holes, hanging tags, and border templates by Katie Pertiet, Hipster plumes 19, Monoblendz creme, and Saffron Villa pageset all by Anna Aspnes, Beth kit (flowers) and Paper Bag Alpha by Lynn Grieveson. (And HTDT bending shadows tutorial by Cassie Jones.

image
Credits: layout by Bonnie, Botanist 22 paper, border die cuts, sunprints 3 brushes, curled journal spots and pinned frames 2 all by Katie Pertiet, Double Dates #1 and Layered and Stapled alpha (bracket) by Kellie Mize, Absolutely Acrylic elements by Pattie Knox, Big Bloom Brushes by Andrea Victoria, Fotoblendz Clipping Mask by Anna Aspnes.

image

Credits: layout by Stacy, Spot Dots paperpack, Naturally Krafty 2, Stitched Up Frames, On the Edge Flourishes, Watery Brushes and Splatters No.2, Doodled block alpha, Double Dates 4, Library Blossoms Kit, Scanty Journal Lines.

I hope you can join in too and come up with a scraplift of this great page. Don’t forget to post in the Saturday Scraplift Gallery. (Puppy madness at our house means I haven’t had the chance to pull them all together for the blog but I loved seeing all last week’s lifts in the gallery!)
