10 weeks 2 Treasure - Round 2!!

Welcome the the first week of 10 weeks 2 Treasure Round 2! We had so much fun with the first round we just couldn’t stop! If this is your first time joining us, we will be spending the next 10 weeks putting together a 12x12 photobook. This book will be a mix of postage stamp frames, vintage frames and postcard journalers making it suited for just about anything! If I hadn’t already done my Ireland book I’d probably do that one because it totally makes sense for a travel book, but instead I’m doing a book of Jason & Jack from my recent visit to see them!

If you’re struggling to come up with a theme, maybe you don’t have enough pictures [45+] from an event to fill a book, think about some of these topics to fill a book:

favorite lyrics
abc’s
top ten [each could be a two-page spread]
grade school memories
favorite quotes
my family

This book will be completed by November 2nd and right away we’ll start a year in review series to finish up by January 11th!

So, let’s get started!

This week is Create-a-Book Posted No. 1

And here’s my opening spread

Layout details here and here!

This series includes 12x12 format only with elements kept in from the edges to allow for trim with a Shutterfly photobook without resizing. But if you prefer to re-size your photobook to minimize trim, please download our FREE action for use in Adobe Photoshop or simply resize your layouts to 11.95"x11.95” for a 12x12 photobook or 7.95"x7.95” for an 8x8 Photobook! Simple as that!

And if you participated in Round 1, don’t forget to share your posts to the Shutterfly gallery in our forums. Today’s the last day to have a chance at winning 1 of 2 FREE 12x12 Photobooks but you have another 2 weeks to post your completed books and receive a 40% off coupon on your order!

Looking forward to seeing your new books!

Fresh Look #3 - Summer Roadtrip

I’m so excited about this week’s fresh look feature - the CT members participating in the challenge did an amazing job! Let’s get right to it….

The layout getting a fresh look this week is by mcadesigns
image

Mel was trying to put a page together that was a table of contents page for her summer roadtrip Shutterfly book. Because she did the layout as part of a chat challenge with time constraints, it didn’t turn out quite like she had hoped. A funny thing about this is that Mel didn’t get a picture from the day they went to a Reds game because her hubby forgot the camera smile Each team member came up with a great way to deal with the missing photo - check it out!

Debi was first in line to take this on - I love her clean and organized look!

Next up is a page by our guest CT member, Sam. What an awesome graphic page - it really tells the story without feeling like you crammed in too much!

And one more great fresh look to share with you by Katrina - I love how she used the ledger grid lines to share the trip details…

We hope that helps with your trip album Mel - the team had a blast working with your photos and I love what they came up with! If you’d like to see us give one of your pages a fresh look, you can submit your page in THIS THREAD. Keep an eye on your PM box here at DD to see if your layout has been chosen smile  Have a great weekend everyone!

It’s time for Terrific Templates!

Yes it is! It’s terrific template Thursday again and this week we have the opportunity to scrap over 75 photos on one page!! Yes, you read that correctly! We are using Anna’s Album in a Quick Page (DP) Version 1

image

And now you can see it in action! Here is Merrilee’s wonderful use of the template - she it to showcase photos from this Summer and use some coordinating papers to fill in some spots (Peacock Garden paper pack and Clean and Serene Solids paper pack )

image

Sam used fabulous photos from her dd’s engagement shoot (wow, I wish Sam was around me when I got engaged!) and only added Pattie’s Have a Heart Felt to complete this graphic layout.

image

Terri used a similar theme to Merrilee but added her own unique twist in the title—how cool is that? Credits: Bubble Gum paper pack

And here’s my take - memories from my trip to CHA-Chicago this summer. I used: Shanghai Kit , Vibe Alphabet brushes-n-stamps and Trim It Up Solids paper pack .

Have fun and don’t forget to post your creations in the Terrific Templates challenge gallery

JUST MY TYPE 35

Woohoo! thanks to the wonders of modern technology I am writing this blog post before I leave for vacation to Portugal for a week, and it will {should!} publish it whilst I’m gone! So clever, -I’m not even going to try and understand how it works!
So fabulous that so many of you played along last challenge - thankyou! Made me feel welcome on my first post!
I have a new typography challenge for you and some more fonts for you to collect too!
CHALLENGE- ‘Are you kidding me?’ Use a childish font for your layout - one that looks like a small person wrote it!  Extra brownie points if you use more than one wink and, of course, there’s no reason your layout should be of or about children.
Theres a whole stack of fonts out there that look child like, have you tried sunday kid ? or two turtle doves ? childsplay? And we have even more alphabets in store that look that way too - like this scribbly one, this between the lines one, and LOTS more!
Heres my layout for the Challenge

image

Thats Miss Daisy, who likes to get up close and personal with the camera {!} and a sweet silly phrase of hers thats become a ‘family thing’ now.
The fonts used here are Katies messy alpha 4 , a bought font called LDJ Jill scratch, and KidTYPERuled.
I cant wait to check in to see your layouts in the JMT gallery!
