10 Weeks 2 Treasure - week #8

Hang in there with me… we’re almost done!!
In just two more weeks you’ll have a completed treasure to last a lifetime and that can be shared with so many!!

It’s week 8 and we’re onto Create-a-Book Classic No. 8!

For my Ireland book I adjusted the pages slightly so that I could include the full castle shot in the background and the picture across the gutter wasn’t large enough so I just moved the overlapping photo over a bit and was quite happy with how that turned out! And I mixed it up a bit by having different colored edgers on each page to coordinate with the photos.

Layout details are here and here

And with Jack’s book I had more pumpkin patch pictures to share before we wind down!

Layout details here and here!

A number of you have asked about the cover and title pages of our books. The last week [week #10] I will have a completer pack in the store with the cover, spine, back cover, title page and closing page. And we will all be sharing our completed photobooks through our forums and the Shutterfly gallery! One lucky poster will win a 20-page 12x12 photobook for FREE and we will have a discount code for everyone who participated! So, what are you waiting for? It’s not too late to join in!

Saturday Scraplift (no. 67)

Did you see this layout by Ashley (aka omyjallopy)?:
image

Such a precious photo and scrapped so perfectly. I love that slightly unexpected and so gorgeous color combo - topped off with the pop of raspberry pink from the pinned sentiments tag. Love that subtle restrained font for the journaling too, and the way the paper tiles and journaling under the photo are mirrored by the paper tiles and journaling in the top corner of a page. Repetition of elements like this is a wonderful way to tie a design together.

Take a look at what this great layout inspired:

Fresh Look #1 - “So Silly”

Our very first Fresh Look - yay! The team has been working on some fresh looks for pages you have submitted. Our very first fresh look is for this original layout by ‘cheekymonkey’ called “So Silly”

Page details found HERE

We have several fresh looks for this sweet layout - let’s get right to it!

Maureen said: “I thought the original layout was very sweet. I know Christine said it didn’t come out as planned so I tried to think of what made her unsatisfied with this layout.  I decided to try to change the layout from monochromatic (which usually evokes peaceful, serene feelings) to have some contrast.  My goal was to try to make a happy, playful feel on the layout with the use of contrasting colors, asymmetry and fun circles

I love what Bonnie did with her fresh look - great circles around the photo, especially the journaling!

We’ll continue to choose layouts for a fresh look from THIS THREAD, so keep on adding your submissions there.  I’ll be back in a couple of weeks with another Fresh Look!
