Saturday Scraplift (No. 78)

Happy Saturday! I’m filling in for Lynn this week and am so excited about this week’s Scraplift. I was so inspired by this layout by donitab. Love the bright colors, her use of brushes, and these great pictures. Thanks so much for the inspiration!

Are you ready for another Terrific Template?

It’s that time again, where we play with some of the terrific templates in the Designer Digitals store. This week the Creative Team played with Ali Edwards Layered Template No 22
image

Kari used it to display some fun memories of a Summer in Michigan. Can’t you just feel the cool breeze off the water here? image
Lynn’s Splash kit was the perfect choice here.

Amber also used the template to showcase some Summer memories - this time for the 4th of July. She took a different approach, filling the circles with patterned papers and embllished them with US of A PageSet , My Country Mini Kit and Oh Say Can You See page kit .

Sarah used the challenge to document a Saturday in her family’s life - check out how she added the date using Twilled Dates and Katie’s new loosely labeled dates (coming soon)

image

And last, but certainly not least, Mel’s take on the challenge with her adorable Hugo - she used him in the background and in some of the circles, filling the rest with Layered Tissue Autumn Paperie

Why don’t you play along and post your layouts using this template in the Template Challenge gallery.

JUST MY TYPE 39

I was so excited to see all the layouts from last times challenge in the gallery! Fabulous pages guys, just fabulous!
I hope you all join in this time too, I have a little arty challenge for you -
Fairytales – story telling with those old time inky fonts:)
I want you to channel Hans Christen Anderson, think like The Brothers Grim and come over all Shakespearean for this one… Out there in the world of wonderful fonts are a whole heap of inky scratchy ‘written with a quill’ ones.  They are old fashioned looking and they are quite beautiful. Ones like Beautiful ink, treasure map deadhand {very cool name!} and olho-de-boi.  We’ve got alphas like it in the store too – Rob and Bobs Pickadilly, shelved alpha, floridian alpha, Victorian Circus and let them eat cake for example,
Take a peek at my sample page here

image

I’ve used ugly duckling for my journaling – love the ‘aged’ hand written feel of this font, and RnB’s Pickadilly for my monogram. You don’t have to start with Once upon a time, or use a monogram, just try and incorporate a little ‘ye olde worlde’ story telling charm into your journaling. I know you wont disappoint and I just cant wait to see what you clever folk create in the JMT gallery. Until next time…or rather-
THE END wink

10 weeks 2 Treasure - Round 2 week 8!!

Welcome to week 8 of round 2!
We are becoming quite the productive group! Only one more spread to go after this week and then we’ll have our completer pack with the title page, closing page and our cover!! woo hoo!! Now might be a good time to start uploading your pages to Shutterfly and start putting your books together! You can find a few tips here from the last round!

This week we’re using Create-a-Book Classic No. 8!

And I completed another spread about Jack! After our trip to the zoo I headed over to Toys R us with a couple of my nieces and picked Jack out a few toys to spoil him with!

Layout Details here and here!

And in the 10 weeks 2 Treasure gallery we’ve got some more fantastic pages!

Merrilee is putting together a beautiful book, Postcards from Pelican Lake!

And I just love the mix of word strips on Jennifer’s pages!

Keep up the great work. We’re almost done and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel [before we head into the next one;)]!
