Scraplifting Inspiration from the Designer Digitals Gallery

Saturday Scraplift No. 131

I just loved this layout by Jana Morton, and I am thinking many of you will have an opportunity to lift this “topic” as the heat is on in the quest for the perfect family picture for holiday cards this season. This is a great way to document the experience of getting that perfect (or not so perfect) photo and gives you a place to put all the fun outtakes from the session!  Of course you can choose to lift the design or part of the design and Jana’s use of color is great, keeping the focus on the photos by using the colors from the clothes.  And while all the paper is a polka dot pattern she varied the size, using a larger pattern on the outside mat and drawing our eye in with the smaller patterns on the inside papers.  So enjoy the inspiration and come join the fun!

Sharon chose to lift the idea of having lots of smaller pictures with one larger one.  She also turned the design on its side!

Jodi kept a similar layout but switched up the theme in her layout.  She also pulled the orange color for the outside mat from the cute turkey craft photo.

I think I may have had these photos in mind when I chose Jana’s layout for this week’s inspiration (wink, wink!)  However, I loved everything about her layout and chose to just lift the whole thing including the eye-catching way she did her title!  So take as little or as much (as I did) of her layout and go get some pictures scrapped!

Pictures, Papers, and Accents, Oh My!

I love a template that lets me mix it up with numbers of pictures, pieces of paper, and accents. I know, I know – it’s called versatility. Lynn’s template answers the call to versatility beautifully. The five spaces enclosed within the worn frame lend themselves to so many combinations of paper and pictures. And then there are the paint smear and label with brads for extra touches, in addition to two spaces for background papers. Lots of possibilities!

Patricia (iUma) takes us to the coast of Cornwall in her page about the village of Portreath. She used the upper spaces of the frame for a gorgeous landscape shot of the coastline. Her accents extend the nautical theme expertly.

Heidi (Heidi2008) reduced the size of the template (genius!) and filled the lower portion of the frame with cute patterned papers to complement the photos of her daughter learning to skate. I love how she used the yarn swirls to call attention to Lana’s skates.

I used the template to tell a story about breakfast at our house when I was a kid. Two of the spaces in the frame became homes for my title and my journaling. Like I said, this template is SO versatile.
