Friday Flickr favrites week 18!

Well over here in the Uk we are well and truly into good photo weather - although, NOW I may have just jinxed that!  I’m getting ready to have a weekend away and by getting ready I mean packing my compact flash cards, spare battery, and other lens ...LOL At least I dont worry over what clothes to take anymore! Theres not much room in the bag after the camera stuff wink
If you need an inspirational break you dont even have to pack, just head over to the DD flickr group and by checking out our photos, you can really travel around the world!

This is my first pick; simply because it caught my eye as a thumbnail and didnt disappoint as a full sized image either. Very cool, a ‘paying attention to the details’ kind of shot! Great capture Sarah!

Our neck of the woods has recently posted this one. Its all so lovely and makes you wish you were there!

I love the depth of field used here in this one by Teragam. Not to mention their expressions, you know how curious cows are… I figure they are wondering if shes shooting Canon or Nikon…

Finally I keep coming back to this one by Jeni dawn. It a simple yet good shot. I love the line up of all those rows, and the bright green against the earth.

I could have posted hundreds, so many wonderful pictures. All very different, all a brief snapshot into another life and another day. Please take the time to check out our popular pool over at flickr. You can find it here.
Until next time…

3 Kits 3 Ways { No.79 }

Good Wednesday morning!  It is time for a new 3 Kits 3 Ways challenge on the Designer Digitals Blog, and I couldn’t decide whether to use three springtime kits for three summertime kits, so I used three sort of season neutral kits I think.  I think that each of the kits are very versatile and are some that I thought that would be fun to use.  I have always loved Katie’s Peas & Carrots kit and can’t wait to see what a few of you do with it.  Amy (Amy L), Sharon (Shannamay) & Janet (JALong) have created three wonderful pages with the three kits + a few extras.

The first kit is Peas & Carrots by Katie Pertiet

Next is Ripped & Stitched {do-it-yourself} from Lynn Grieveson:

and, the third kits is 31 Days Circle Numbers from Ali Edwards:

All About Me Challenge No. 9

Welcome to the AAM Challenge! This week’s challenge is going to take us to the dark side. Okay, not really the dark side but it is going to send us into that part of ourselves that is not always bright and shiny.

In our goal to make an All About Me album that shows the world all the sides of our lives, this challenge is entitled “What Makes Me Sad.” We’ve previously done a challenge entitled “What Makes Me Smile” and this is the counterpart to that layout.

Don’t feel obligated to make the entire layout sad and gloomy, though! Feel free to inject some humor and to keep it light-hearted if that’s what you want to do.

Here’s my inspiration page. I chose to make a 2-page layout for this challenge so that I could include a lot of photos and a lot of journaling.

Supplies: Cathy Zielske’s Layered Template No. 51, Pierrette Solids Paper Pack

I can’t wait to see your pages!

PageKraft: WriteTrue + Click #10

Food. We celebrate with it, grieve with it, and mark special days with it. It brings us together as a community and as a family. We count calories and ignore them. We share recipes and experiment with ingredients. We all eat.

How does food define you? How is it a part of your life? In this week’s PageKraft: WriteTrue+Click, we are focusing on the click. I photographed a recent dinner with my sister. We’d spent a long day at the hospital with my mom and unexpectedly treated ourselves to an amazing dinner. The dinner we needed to feed our souls after an emotional day.

Credits can be found in the gallery.

To photograph my dinner, I shot lower than my seated position. It was a dimly lit room, so I bumped my ISO up to get enough light for the shot. I framed the shot by cutting off the plate letting the focus fall on the veggies.

Do you have a meal or a moment you want to capture? Is there a story to tell about it? Share your own inspiration in the PageKraft: WriteTrue+Click Gallery.
