This week’s Adobe Photoshop or Elements tip of the week is now available on video. This weeks tip is on Creating Shapes That Look Hand Cut in Photoshop and PSE.
This week’s fun inspiration is from Terry (aka MIDA78466):
I love the sense of movement the tilted papers and photos give to the page. It’s a great two photo design. It can sometimes be hard to come up with a strong design when you only have two pics but this one works really well. The tilting and the overlapping of the title, plus the way Terry pulled her colors from the photos themselves, gives it a unified, cohesive look with no elements left “floating”.
Here’s how Aino, Kathy and Linda were inspired:

It’s week 4 of the ten weeks to treasure series using the Painted Summer series! If you’re just joining us, we’re scrapping two pages a week to end up with a wonderful Shutterfly Photobook or an album when we’re through!
This week’s templates have space for up to eleven photos! You can tell quite a story with that many photos!

My pages this week are the pictures of my cousin Mary and focusing on her and sunbathing. She had no interest in going in the ocean and was content to stay on the blanket in the sand. But that’s okay, she’s a doll and I wanted to showcase some of the pictures I took of her!

And Mel’s been using the templates for a variety of pages and simply recoloring the paint layers to match her pages. So many uses for these templates!

I’ll be delayed again next week but then should be back on track as we head into the home stretch!
I’d be very surprised if there’s a person out there who doesn’t answer this question with a resounding, “YES!” So let’s move on to a cool template that can help you get those photos into a layout: Ali Edwards’ Layered Template No. 37. There’s room for three photos and lots of journaling, all grounded on a piece of bracketed paper. And I have some fun examples to share with you from the Creative Team.

Angie (angie wags) produced a stunning page using three photos of her pretty daughter. The aqua blues of the beach are intoxicating, and the watery spots are the perfect accent. Angie’s journaling is so sweet and tender; our babies really do grow up so fast.

Amy’s (Amy L) page documents another rite of passage – going away to school and the transportation issues that go along with it. Amy combined two of the picture spots to accommodate that great shot of her son mugging for the camera and added a third narrow photo on the left side. Brilliant, Amy!

I had three photos in portrait orientation, so I rotated the template and reduced its size to produce a wider border. I balanced the title, date, and circular accent on the left with the journaling on the right.
