Yikes . . . July is over . . . August is here already! Where is the summer going . . . and why so quickly?
Now that schools are starting and you are getting ready to settle into a new routine, are you ready to scrap some of your summer photos? If you are, I know that the products for the 3 Kits 3 Ways challenge this week will help you along the way.
The first kit is Pattie’s Dipped Chips: Travel Elements
Next is Anna’s Scratched Edge Overlays No. 01: 12 x 12
And, finally we have Michelle Martin’s lovely Maskros Kit
For the 3 Ways this week we will begin with Elena and her funny layout featuring her son & his friend! Take a look and then click on Elena’s gallery for a closer look too.
Along with the three kits featured, Elena used these extras: LoopDaLoop Arrows No. 01, Staple Its!: Clusters No. 02, Filmed Layered Template No. 02 & DoubleD Doodles: School No. 01.
My [ readstoomuch ] layout is about the first day of a recent trip that I took with one of my cousins . . . needless to say, we had a wonderful time! The only extra that I used with the three kits is Layered Memories Template No. 119.
Debi [ beehive50 ] made the last layout for our challenge this week and used only the three challenge kits for her terrific page. I love that Debi says she stepped out of the box by using RED paper when she normally would’ve matched the blue in the photos. The red looks fabulous, Debi!!
I hope that you love these kits as much as Debi, Elena and I did . . . and I hope to see the layouts that you create with them in the 3 Kits 3 Ways Gallery here at Designer Digitals. Merrilee and I are teammates for this challenge and we love checking the gallery to see what you have come up with! For your page you need only the three challenge kits and any other DD products that you want to use.
Welcome to the All About Me Challenge!
Can you believe that it’s been 6 months of AAM challenges?! We are well on our way to having a book done by the end of the year. And, if you’re not doing a whole AAM book and are just picking and choosing some of the challenges to scrapbook, you should still congratulate yourself. Every layout you do ABOUT you is a gift to future generations.
This week’s challenge came to me as I was talking to my daughter this week. She’s had a very rough week and I’ve caught myself telling her over and over again, “I believe in you. You can do this.” And it occurred to me that I, too, need to believe in myself more often. It prompted this week’s challenge entitled “I Believe.”
You can craft your journaling around your core beliefs such as love, family, faith, and success. You can make it humorous or serious, as always. Or you can make a list with “I believe” as your prompt. For example:
I believe in…
I believe that…
I believe because…
I believe this…
I believe always…
My layout is simple and straightforward and combines some serious thoughts with a bit of humor - although I could argue that chocolate is always a very serious matter.
Supplies: By the Numbers Layered Template Set No. 1, Lost at Sea Solids Paper Pack, Simply Flourished Value Paper Pack No. 2, Cut Offs No. 01 Brushes and Stamps, Letter Box Colors: Sky Paper Pack, Mapped Paper Pieces: Butterflies No. 01, My Wonderful Adventure Kit, Stamped Stitched Stars Brushes and Stamps, Cut Ups: Soccer
I can’t wait to see your layouts!

When I started the WriteTrue project in January I had the idea of creating a set of pages which would share my knowledge with my grandpeople.
It’s August now and I’ve just spent a great holiday with my GRANDboy. I’ve learned more from him in these few days than I expected.
Sometimes we forget to pay attention to the innocence of the open mind and heart.
Take a few minutes in the next couple of weeks and consider what you have learned from your juniors. Not necessary to use your own kids, or even kids for that matter.
There’s plenty to be learned from the sweet 4 footeds we share life with, too!
AmyL has four magnificent sons and so she has a great resource for growing love and learning right at her home. This moody and elegant page for her second son is so compelling.

I’ve been with this boy since the day he was born. I feel especially lucky to have been with him on the day he fell head-over-head-over in love. As in… not leaving her side and waiting outside the bathroom at the dock for her. Seven seems early but since LOVE is universal we reason it is ok. There were plenty more lessons - about patience and sleep and guarding wild boys - but love won out for the page.
