All About Me Challenge: Let’s Play Catch Up!

Welcome to the All About Me Challenge! Every week, I am amazed by the pages in the AAM Gallery and I just love to see how many people are joining me in this challenge. It’s a lot of work to be introspective and to write about yourself and I’m proud of everyone for taking the time to focus on themselves. However, we all lead very busy lives and school is underway, along with fall sports, football on the weekends, piano practice, and everything else that goes into the busy fall season. So, just as we did in the spring, I I decided to make this week’s challenge a catch up challenge - the goal is to simply catch up on previous assignments.

Here are the 17 challenges we’ve had so far:

AAM Challenge No. 1: Me Now
AAM Challenge No. 2: How Did I Get Here?

PageKraft:::WriteTrue + Click:: No.18: Harvest of Stories

Last Wednesday, September 23rd, was the first day of autumn, the Equinox - when night and day are equal.
Before the 16th century, harvest was the term usually used to refer to the Autumn season. Harvest comes from the old English word hærfest, and the first part of the word has Indo-European roots in kerp meaning to gather, pluck, harvest. In agriculture, the harvest is the process of gathering or reaping mature crops from the fields.

This time of year is a great time to celebrate gathering, keeping, and holding a story.  Think about all you’ve done this year - planting new ideas, experiencing and growing new projects- what is the harvest you will be reaping now, as you consider your stories.
What is the story you will be keeping, storing for the future as nourishment for yourself and your loved ones? This might be a good time to think deeply about what you are learning, collecting, reaping form your life experiences.
What do you want to harvest from this year to save as a story?

Here are some beautiful ideas from our Creative Team.  First, look at this elegant design and involving writing from Elena.  She has captured the actual harvest in her area but also drifted deep into the reverie of harvest. She’s got the details that bring you into the story and the overview, too.

Myra took the longer view of harvest….and looked at the lifetime investment of her marriage.  This rich and rewarding page celebrates deep love and the harvest it can bring.  Her writing shows how much can be conveyed in just one page.

Here is a page I did to remember the summer.  This man and his ability to reflect and also act adventurously…. this is something I want to remember about this one summer. I didn’t try to incorporate all my stories.  I just focussed on one that touched me, something I value.

Saturday Scraplift No.172

This week’s inspiration is from new Mom and new gallery poster dcreates. Her unique layouts of her adorable baby have captured lots of people’s attention in the gallery. I love this one, with it’s wonderful twist on a classic “three photos in a row” design:

The border detail, with the incredibly creative use of torn edges and other elements really makes this page shine. Love the combo of the Black and White photos with the gold and grey as well.

Here’s how Jess, Melanie and Bailey were inspired by this great layout:
