Hello, everyone! February 29th only comes around every few years, so, I guess that makes this a special posting for the 3 Kits 3 Ways Challenge. Mollie and I are continuing with the 3 Kits Challenge With a Twist idea. That means there are 9 kits for you to choose from if you’d like to join in on this challenge. The challenge is to use only 3 kits to create a layout. Jana, Carol and I did just that! We each chose 3 of our favorite kits and used only those kits to create example layouts for you. We’d like you to do the same. You can pick any 3 of the 9 kits we’re featuring today.

You’ll notice all three of our layouts have a wintery theme, so, if you’ve got snowy, wintery photos to scrap, you’ll get good ideas for kits to use. If it’s not winter where you live, take a look at how Carol used wintery kits to create her example!

First up is Jana’s layout. Jana Morton is a master teacher of blending and I love her choices of bold, vivid colors to showcase her son’s photos taken on a winter day in Minnesota. Notice the snow on one of the letters in her title. Clever!

To keep with our wintery theme, Carol, who lives in Australia where it is summer, had to be clever and that she is! Her snowflakes look right at home on this pretty page, don’t you agree? Even though Carol admits it was a challenge to stick with only 3 kits, I think her page looks complete and perfect.

Remember your challenge is to create a page using 100% DD products, drawing inspiration from some or all of the colors and/or the photo, and upload it to the Color Challenge gallery by 11 p.m. eastern time on Sunday, March 11. If you do, you’ll be eligible to win! One lucky scrapper will receive a $5 gift certificate for DD product of her choice. This week’s gorgeous inspiration page is by Beckie (aka Mungerre), whose gallery is packed fullof clever, creative and downright beautiful layouts.

Isn’t it wonderful? I love how Beckie created the circular background effect by layering stitching and watercolor paint and the great 12 x 12 text frame by Ali. And on top of the circle the layering of photos and text and titlework all overlapping and creating a cohesive whole. A great way to get the fun of circles on your page without the scary step of cutting your photos into circles!
