It’s week 4 of our speed challenge! If you’re just joining us, we’re creating a year-in-review book in just 5 weeks! In the first post of the speed challenge I list out a number of layered template books that are just right for this challenge! For my book, I’m using the Year in Review Layered Template Set.
And this week I’ve finished August and September!! Only 3 more months to go, a title page & cover and I’m done!

I’m enjoying Dorah’s book using Ali’s Bread and Butter templates!
And Mollie’s got an adorable book coming together!

Share your pages in the 10 weeks 2 Treasure Gallery as we wrap up this challenge next weekend!

I love this page by ArtMidget!
First of all, that very fun photo and the wonderful photo treatment. Then the homespun texture of the paper which goes with the photo so perfectly. And what a great use of a mix of patterned paper. So why not have a look through your stash for patterned papers you’ve been wanting to use and join us in lifting this great layout.
Here’s how Amber and Billie were inspired:

Guess what these 3 layouts by Lynnie, Billie and Kayleigh have in common, besides being fabulous? See if you can spot the 3 products all 3 used before I show you. No fair peeking!

Guest CT member Billie’s Layout

Could you spot the 3 products I challenged them to use? You’ve got sharp eyes if you did! Well, if not, here they are:
The beautiful paper pack, Reminiscent, is by Jesse Edwards.

For adding an interesting texture to a page, I chose Dana Zarling’s Dirty Cardboard Edges.

We all seem to love the effect of overlays on our pages so my 3rd choice is Mary Ann Wise’s versatile Happy Corners 12 x 12 Overlays. Note the featured words are family, friends, happy, beautiful
and change. Don’t those words remind you of family gatherings for the holidays?

I hope seeing the example layouts will inspire you to check out these products in the Designer Digitals store if you don’t already own them. I know I picked up more than one good idea from each of these layouts. I hope you’ll consider joining in on the challenge.
Remember, you can add additional designs to your page if you wish.
Here are the additional products used in each of the posted examples:
Lynnie used Tuckables No. 2 by Kellie Mize and Anchor Its and Brad Bonanza by Pattie Knox.
Billie added Absolutely Acrylic Alphabet No. 02 by Pattie Knox; ; Botanical Fusion No. 01 and Flower Stems Brushes-n-Stamps No. 02 by Katie Pertiet.
Kayleigh added products by Anna Aspnes (His Valentine Mini Kit, Stitched by Anna White No. 02, FotoDaze Layered Template Set No. 01, and MonoBlendz Winter Whites Paperie No. 01); products by Katie Pertiet (I Look Up Elements and Metal Mesh Alphabet and products by Pattie Knox (Frosted Alphabet No 01: Lowercase and Staple Its).

well, it looks like I’m going to be playing catch up on the speed challenge
With my parents coming to visit this week and then heading up to New Hampshire on Friday I’ve got a lot of work to do getting in the way
of my scrapping. I’m sure many of you can relate to that--but I’m plugging away at just one month this weekend!
If you’re just joining in, we’re having a speed challenge to scrap a year-in-review photobook in just 5 weeks! I’m using the Year-in-Review Layered Template Set available in the store!
I’m on July and am enjoying how many more pictures I took this summer! It makes it so much easier to remember all the fun things we did!

Layout details here and here
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families and I’ll look forward to catching up with you!

This lovely page by Mary is the inspiration for this week’s Saturday Scraplift:
Just like her parent’s home, Mary’s page is constructed on a strong framework. The straight-lined, bordered design is perfect for the subject matter. It has space for one large picture, with the focus firmly on it, plus smaller photos. And I love how the heart element sneaks in there unexpectedly.
Here’s how it inspired Kim, Patricia and Lynnie - it’s wonderful how different all three pages are! (and if YOU are inspired, don’t forget to share with us by posting in the Saturday Scraplift Gallery)
Credits: layout by Kim, Pina kit by Andrea Victoria, Worn page edges, white painted alphabet and Frayed knots by Lynn Grieveson, Painted frames no.1 and Autumn Fall wordart by Anna Aspnes, Tied fasteners by Katie Pertiet.
Credits: layout by Patricia, Jouets Collection, Photobooth frames and Alandia Collection by Katie Pertiet, Dirty Words and Worn Edges Mixed by Lynn Grieveson, Absolutely Acrylic pastel tinted buttons and ties by Pattie Knox.
Credits: layout by Lynnie, Aged Perfection paperpack, Carded Stacked Frames No.2 by Katie Pertiet, Distressed Toolset No. 3, Stitched by Anna cream No. 3 by Anna Aspnes, Worn page edges by Lynn Grieveson, Little Folden Ribbon bits and Dipped Chips Polka Dot buttons by Pattie Knox.
