3 Kits 3 Ways Challenge {No. 43}

Two weeks ago, Merrilee, my cohort for the 3Kits 3Ways challenges chose three wonderfully-wintery feeling kits.  Today, I am looking forward to spring, and have picked Katie’s Counting Adventures Kit for its fun and spring like colors.  I have had this cute kit in my stash for a long time, and just love the darling little bears it features. To go with this, I chose Ali’s Hello Baby Hand Drawn Brushes and Rob & Bob’s Sanctuary Alpha.

Here are the 3 Kits:

Sarah {shhbabymine} & Myra {mnc0114} from the Creative Team have joined me {Mollie aka readstoomuch} in making three layouts using these products.  Sarah & Myra are each so very talented, and I love that they created such great pages for today’s challenge!

And now, here are the 3 Ways:

First is Sarah’s adorable “Sweetest Days” layout uses three of the twelve papers from Katie’s Counting Adventures Kit, a single letter from the Sanctuary Alpha that looks great stapled onto a small tag, and one of the fabulous phrases from Ali’s words. I love the word art quotation “these are the Sweetest Days we will know” . . . perfect words for her perfectly sweet photograph. Here are Sarah’s extras: Die Cut paper Pack No. 02, Stitched by Anna - White No. 01 & Stitched Up Frames No. 02

Myra {mnc0114} is a purist in her “Count the Ways” layout.  She only used the three challenge products, and created a perfectly wonderful page using a photograph made a few years back.  Myra said, “Scrapping this photo makes me sad that I didn’t have a digi SLR when Jake was born. I have a lot of scanning to do!” I totally agree, and I too am sorry that digi wasn’t around when our children were small, and that I didn’t have the scrapbooking products and ideas that Designer Digitals provide for us today.  I love that Myra chose this precious photograph to use for the challenge!

For my {Mollie aka readstoomuch} layout I have used a recent photo of one of our grandsons wearing what he calls his Amazing Boops!  I have loved the little old fashioned bear papers for a long time, and when I saw this photo, that kit came to mind.  The little bear stamp says “Just put one foot in front of the other”, which is perfect for Henry!  In addition to the Challenge Kits, these are the DD extras that I have used:  Brad Bonanza and Staple Its by Pattie Knox, Perfectly Plaid by Dana Zarling & You Layered Template(stitched border)from Katie Pertiet.

I hope that you will enjoy working with these three Designer Digitals products just as much as Sarah, Myra & I did.  Remember that in creating a layout for the challenge, you can use any other DD products on your layouts that you would like to use.  Post your layout in the 3 Kits 3 Ways Gallery at Designer Digitals . . . Merrilee & I will love to see them there!

DAILY DOSE CHALLENGE (No. 1)

I’m so excited to announce the brand new “Daily Dose” challenge here at Designer Digitals! Every two weeks I’ll post a challenge based on a page from the long awaited inspirational calendar, “Daily Dose of Digital”. This e-book calendar is jam packed with amazing talent and inspiring layouts. And since all the products are linked directly back to the store, it’s an invaluable resource for the next year and beyond. Throughout 2009 we’ll be pulling fun concepts from the calendar to inspire and jump start your creativity. Oh, and be on the lookout for occasional prizes and giveaways!

Wanna play?!? Here’s what to do…

1. Purchase the calendar here.

2. Create a layout, project or card based on the challenge posted here on the blog.

3. Post your creation(s) to the Daily Dose of Digital Gallery here.

Challenge One :
For our first challenge, we’ll be taking inspiration from Kayleigh Wile’s layout on the January 5 calendar page. I love the way she rotated, resized and repositioned the elements of Ali’s template. Now it’s your turn! We want to see you resize, alter or adjust a pre-made template to create a fresh page that’s uniquely yours. To get you inspired, I gave this challenge to three of our team members. Check out the templates they started with and the amazing designs they created from them.

Saturday Scraplift (No. 85)

I’m filling in for Lynn while she travels the US in an RV!

This week I chose a page by Pixiedixie (Amy) that made me laugh out loud when I saw it in the gallery!

image

I love the great composition and the fun photo! The dash of orange in the title fills the negative space on the photo and the stitching anchors the bottom of the page. Did you catch her clever date too?

I loved Lynnie’s sweet take on Amy’s layout using photos of the under 23 set!
